Meanwhile, Duncan came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Roughriders as they made off with a 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildkats, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Reymia Contreras made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sofia Harris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Shaylynn Rhoton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Duncan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.
Duncan pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Baboquivari, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
