Basketball Recap: Chuckey-Doak Takes a Loss

Chuckey-Doak was the 62-58 winner over South Greene when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chuckey-Doak Black Knights were beaten by the South Greene Rebels 63-24 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Rebels are ranked 107th).

Chandler Gamble was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards for South Greene. Another player making a difference was Cayden Fillers, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Chuckey-Doak has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for South Greene, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

Chuckey-Doak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-51 loss against Hampton on the 24th. As for South Greene, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-66 win against Johnson County on the 24th.
