It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cuba City can now relate to. They fell just short of the Aquinas Blugolds by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Cubans' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Cuba City actually scored more points across those five sets (106-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-22, 25-20, 15-25, 15-13.

Ella Vosberg paced Cuba City's offense, picking up 15 kills. Vosberg got some help from Isabella Digman and her 42 assists. Digman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Josephine Lawton had an outrageously good game for Aquinas as she had 48 assists. Lawton is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in the last 26 games she's played.

Cuba City's loss dropped their record down to 30-2. As for Aquinas, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 26-4.

Cuba City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aquinas, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Laconia on the 2nd.
