Recap: Westbrook Wildcats vs. Ira Bulldogs
Make it seven blowout wins for the Westbrook Wildcats this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Ira 74-30 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-10.
Westbrook's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grayson Jeffrey led the charge by scoring 13 points along with five assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Parker Matlock, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
The victory (which was Westbrook's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Ira, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westbrook will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Hermleigh at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Ira, they will square off against Highland at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Highland: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Ira has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
