Baseball Recap: Floresville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Floresville had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cuero Gobblers 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers/Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Bryan Cardenas spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Floresville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Moreno, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Floresville's win bumped their record up to 20-10. As for Cuero, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-13.

As of now, neither Floresville nor the Gobblers have any future games scheduled.
