Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hawkinsville). They breezed by the Montgomery County Eagles to the tune of 61-21 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Red Devils have posted since February 14, 2024.

Hawkinsville was led to victory by Kyla Slocumb and Myah Brown. Slocumb almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine steals, while Brown went 6 for 14 en route to 19 points along with six boards and four steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alicia Newman, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Hawkinsville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.

Hawkinsville moved to 4-13 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Montgomery County, they dropped their record down to 2-17 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Hawkinsville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Turner County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Montgomery County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Metter at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Metter will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Montgomery County surely won't give up without a fight.
