Volleyball Recap: DeSoto Central Victorious

DeSoto Central took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Germantown, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jaguars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mavericks on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted since September 28, 2024.

DeSoto Central was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 14-25, 24-26, 25-17, 15-12.

Marlee Mueller was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 22 digs and two aces. Those 22 digs gave her a new career-high. Iyana Fields also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

DeSoto Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Germantown, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

DeSoto Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Center Hill on the 11th. As for Germantown, they will be playing at home against Northwest Rankin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
