Softball Recap: Morenci Gets the Win

The Morenci Wildcats earned a 17-13 win over the Monument Valley Mustangs on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

The team relied heavily on Tiara Jones, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Leiah Strong, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI.

Morenci always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Morenci's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Monument Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Morenci has already played their next matchup, a 14-6 win against Parker on the 20th. As for Monument Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-1 victory against Dysart on the 20th.
