Softball Recap: Downey Knights vs. Pitman Pride
Downey had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-8 to make it six. They came up short against the Pitman Pride, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pride this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-8 back in March.
As for Pitman, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Looking ahead, Downey will take on Johansen at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pitman, they will be taking part in a tournament against Mercy at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
