Lake Pointe Academy lost against Hampton Park Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lake Pointe Academy Mariners fell 56-43 to Hampton Park Christian. The Mariners' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lake Pointe Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Jacobs, who posted 14 points. Stewart Settle was another key player, putting up 13 points.

It was another big night for Trevor Gearhart, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 17 boards for Hampton Park Christian. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Gearhart has scored at least a third of Hampton Park Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Spencer Burke, who had nine points.

Lake Pointe Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Hampton Park Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Lake Pointe Academy will take on UR Academy in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (UR Academy has won three straight at home, while Lake Pointe Academy won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Hampton Park Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-48 loss against Bob Jones Academy on the 16th.
