Recap: Fideles Christian Rangers vs. Scholars Guild Academy Spartans
The Fideles Christian Rangers posted their biggest win since December 1, 2023 on Thursday. They blew past Scholars Guild Academy 68-42. With Fideles Christian ahead 43-20 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Gabe Reynolds continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with five assists and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. Hudson Blackstock was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Scholars Guild Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah McIlvain, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob McIlvain, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Scholars Guild Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Fideles Christian pulled down 20 offensive rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Fideles Christian and bumps their season record up to 11-3. As for Scholars Guild Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fideles Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lanier Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on January 12th. Lanier Christian Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Scholars Guild Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Young Americans Christian at 7:15 p.m.
