Cedar Ridge has gone 8-2 against Stony Point recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Raiders will square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Cedar Ridge has given up an average of 44.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Cedar Ridge managed to slip by Round Rock the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Raiders were beaten by the Dragons 40-12 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the loss, Cedar Ridge had strong showings from Noah Devonish, who rushed for 123 yards on only 12 carries, and Devin Patterson, who rushed for 62 yards and one score. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 77 yards.
Meanwhile, Stony Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 56-21 loss at the hands of McNeil. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Cedar Ridge will need to focus on slowing down Marcus Milligan, one of several Stony Point players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Mason Troyer was another key player, throwing for 298 yards and one TD while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt.
Stony Point now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Cedar Ridge, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Cedar Ridge has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 428.4 total yards per game. However, it's not like Stony Point struggles in that department as they've been averaging 374 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Cedar Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Stony Point in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 24-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
