Southwestern can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Fredonia Hillbillies. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Hillbillies on Wednesday, they had to take a 9-4 defeat.

Wilson Genareo was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Genareo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Charles, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Southwestern's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-6. As for Fredonia, they moved to 6-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern will head out to square off against Falconer at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fredonia, they will venture away from home to challenge Jamestown at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Hillbillies are facing the Red & Green at the right time seeing as the Red & Green are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
