Preview: Hopi Bruins vs. Pinon Eagles
Hopi is 8-2 against Pinon since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Hopi Bruins will head out on the road to take on the Pinon Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Hopi is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
Hopi suffered their biggest defeat since November 17, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Round Valley at home and fell 63-22. Hopi was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.
Meanwhile, Pinon came up short against Northland Prep Academy on Saturday and fell 47-38.
Hopi has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Pinon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Hopi skirted past Pinon 48-45 in their previous matchup on January 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hopi since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
