Softball Recap: Union City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Muncie Central on Wednesday, Union City came back down to earth. The Indians came up short against the South Adams Starfires on Thursday, falling 10-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Starfires: they've now lost six in a row.

Gabrielle Ordonez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Union City's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for South Adams, their record now sits at 10-2.

Looking ahead, Union City will welcome Ansonia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for South Adams, they will face off against Bellmont at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Starfires are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
