Baseball Recap: Scranton Prep Takes a Loss

Scranton Prep made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Pocono, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 9-7 on Monday. The Cavaliers have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Ben Toczydlowski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Reece Vida also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Scranton Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for North Pocono, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scranton Prep will take on Abington Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Comets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Pocono, they will square off against West Scranton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans are facing the Invaders at the right time seeing as the Invaders are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
