Mt. Vernon put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 54-40 victory over the Solon Spartans. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 56-46 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Mt. Vernon's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Solon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will head out to square off against West Delaware at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Solon, they will venture away from home to challenge Center Point-Urbana at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Center Point-Urbana will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Solon surely won't give up without a fight.
