Football Recap: Woodburn Takes a Loss

Woodburn played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Stayton Eagles 42-7. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Mason Pickett` threw for 84 yards and one TD while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Woodburn's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Stayton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Woodburn is set to square off against their familiar foe Estacada at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. Meanwhile, Stayton will face off against rival Cascade at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 9.1, the Cougars 10.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
