Soccer Game Preview: Central Wise vs. Abingdon

Central Wise hasn't had much luck against Abingdon recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors will challenge the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Central Wise has given up an average of 5.4 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Central Wise came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Gate City, falling 7-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Central Wise were already down 5-1.

Meanwhile, Abingdon made easy work of Lee on Tuesday and carried off a 6-1 victory. Considering Abingdon have won four contests by more than four goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Lee with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mason Sollien (3), Tyke Thompson (2), and Christian Cvetkovski.

Abingdon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four games. As for Central Wise, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Central Wise might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Abingdon in their previous matchup on April 1st. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
