League recap: Williamsville tops PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central to extend winning streak

Williamsville extended the longest winning streak in Sangamo this week by beating PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central, 42-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

North Mac and Riverton played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with North Mac eventually emerging with a 36-31 victory.

Williamsville's dynamic duo of Josh Lindsey and Tony Moscardeli proved tough for the Bluejays to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lindsey threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns and Moscardeli had 66 yards receiving. Kenyon Sherrock helped Williamsville's passing attack out by catching two balls for 31 yards.

Noah Meyer was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 108 yards as Auburn bested PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central. Austin Muench also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.

Auburn's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Korben Clark has thrown for 982 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Muench has 24 catches for 352 yards. Muench leads the league in rushing with 653 yards.

The Bullets took down the Bluejays 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Lindsey ran for 89 yards in the win.
