Volleyball Recap: Homewood-Flossmoor Gets the Win

Homewood-Flossmoor posted their closest victory since September 18th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Lincoln-Way West Warriors. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Homewood-Flossmoor had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 25-17.

Anna Dedo had an outrageously good game as she had seven digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matches.

Homewood-Flossmoor now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Lincoln-Way West, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-12.

Coming up, Homewood-Flossmoor will square off against Lincoln-Way East at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Griffins will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lincoln-Way West, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Downers Grove South on the 18th.
