Volleyball Recap: Sumter County Falls to Carver

Sumter County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carver Tigers.

Sumter County has now lost six of their last seven games on the road. That leaves them at a 7-9 record this season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-0 Shaw (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.2% over those games). As for Carver, they have been on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Sumter County and Carver will both be playing Kendrick the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face the Cherokees at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
