Basketball Game Preview: Walker Wildcats vs. Plaquemine Green Devils

The Walker Wildcats and the Plaquemine Green Devils will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Walker is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell just short of French Settlement by a score of 69-66 on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (56), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Plaquemine entered their tilt with East Feliciana on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Tigers, posting a 60-20 victory. The matchup marked the Green Devils' most dominant win of the season so far.

Plaquemine pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Walker, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Things could have been worse for Walker, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-48 loss to Plaquemine in their previous matchup back in December of 2023.
