Softball Game Preview: Rappahannock County vs. Luray Bulldogs

Rappahannock County will venture away from home to face off against the Luray Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Rappahannock County and 22 for Luray dating back to last season.

Rappahannock County came up short against Strasburg on Tuesday, falling 12-1.

Meanwhile, Luray scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Stonewall Jackson by a score of 16-15.

Gracie Stillwill and Caydence Cave did some serious damage despite the final result: Stillwill scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Cave went 1-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Stillwill also got a hit, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emilee Hassett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-5.

Rappahannock County's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Luray, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-5.

Rappahannock County suffered a grim 17-3 defeat to Luray in their previous matchup back in March of 2016. Can Rappahannock County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
