Amplus Academy extends home losing streak to 11

Recap: Amplus Academy Archers vs. Cheyenne Desert Shields

This season hasn't been kind to the Amplus Academy Archers, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They were dealt a 45-10 defeat at the hands of Cheyenne on Monday. Amplus Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.

Talaya Allen was Amplus Academy's leading scorer, having posted five points. Naomi Jacob held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.

Cheyenne was led to victory by Elissa Sambo and Nita Franklin. Sambo dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 steals, while Franklin scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Franklin has scored at least 25% of Cheyenne's points. Another player making a difference was Safariya Johnson, who scored four points along with five steals.

Amplus Academy's defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Cheyenne, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Amplus Academy will head out on the road to face off against Eldorado at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cheyenne, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Southeast Career Tech at 6:30 p.m.
