Basketball Recap: Grace Christian School Takes a Loss

Grace Christian School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the St. Margaret's Scotties and fell 67-17. While losing is never fun, the Kings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Scotties are ranked 72nd).

Claire Tuck was Grace Christian School's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Madelyn Kennedy held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Ashley Kelm took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Leading St. Margaret's to victory were Teodora Petrovic and Princess Samanzi. Petrovic posted 12 points, while Samanzi earned 11 points. That's the most points Petrovic has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mya Roberts, who had seven points.

Grace Christian School's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for St. Margaret's, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Grace Christian School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 33-30 loss against St. Michael the Archangel on the 4th. As for St. Margaret's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-52 defeat against Trinity Episcopal on the 5th.
