Long County proved they can win big last Friday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the South Effingham Mustangs get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Long County's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five contests.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Ananayely Martinez, who's now up to three this season.

Long County pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 43 goals over those seven games. As for South Effingham, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Long County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Vincent's at 5:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for South Effingham, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Effingham County on the 4th.
