Basketball Recap: Anna-Jonesboro's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Anna-Jonesboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 53-40 to the Pinckneyville Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Panthers are ranked 115th).

Anna-Jonesboro's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-17. As for Pinckneyville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anna-Jonesboro will head out to face off against DuQuoin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pinckneyville, they will square off against Benton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pinckneyville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
