Football Recap: Sprague Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with West Salem

Sprague faced West Salem in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Olympians fell 26-16 to the Titans. The Olympians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Sprague lost, don't look at Carter Lovell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 68 yards and one TD, and also threw for 172 yards and one touchdown.

Sprague's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Sprague wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 55-21 win against North Medford on the 12th. As for West Salem, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 29-14 victory against Sheldon on the 12th.
