Softball Recap: River Valley's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

River Valley proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 14) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kingman Bulldogs, sneaking past 4-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Dust Devils, who have now won four contests in a row.

Sophia Reyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up ten Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last ten games.

On the hitting side, River Valley's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cherity Gonzalez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Gonzalez hit this season.

River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-3-1. As for Kingman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

River Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 win against Chino Valley on the 25th. As for Kingman, they have also already played their next contest, a 20-4 victory against Odyssey Institute on the 26th.
