Volleyball Recap: Manvel Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Manvel entered their tilt with Alvin on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Yellowjackets 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Manvel not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Alvin between 16 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 25-16.

Leading Manvel to victory were Emerson Chang and Sami Guikema. Chang had 13 digs and one assist, while Guikema had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Guikema has posted since back in September. Cynthia Daniels also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Manvel's win bumped their record up to 28-10. As for Alvin, their loss dropped their record down to 13-23.

Coincidentally, Manvel and Alvin will both be playing Dawson the next time they take the court. The Yellowjackets will head out to face the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Mavericks will host them at 6:30 p.m. on the 24th.
