After a string of nine wins, Evangel Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 71-59 to the Valiant Cross Academy Warriors. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Deshawn Hall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Valiant Cross Academy, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. Hall has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 42 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of James Cosby, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards.

Evangel Christian Academy's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. As for Valiant Cross Academy, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
