On Friday, Erie never let their opponents score. They put the hurt on the Emmett Huskies with a sharp 6-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Erie.

Erie got a great performance from Preston Miller as he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Ryland Carpenter relieved him and did a solid job, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also only allowed one walk).

On the hitting side, Varek Van Aelstyn was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two triples and a run. Another player making a difference was Taylor McMaster, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

On Emmett's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Rolland, who went 1-for-3 with a stolen base.

Erie now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Emmett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Erie will be playing in front of their home fans against Kirtland Central at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
