The Arlington Colts will face off against the Grand Prairie Gophers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arlington has given up an average of 26.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Arlington after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They received a blow as they fell 35-21 to Lamar. The loss came about despite the Colts having been up 21 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Grand Prairie can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Sam Houston by a score of 35-27. The high-scoring effort was just what the Gophers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Arlington better keep an eye on Xavier Clinton. He was instrumental in Grand Prairie's win, rushing for 35 yards and a pair of scores, while also picking up 64 receiving yards and one TD.

Grand Prairie didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Sam Houston to a completion percentage of just 45%. The Gophers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.

Arlington has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Grand Prairie, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Arlington against Grand Prairie in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 52-24 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Gophers' Bralen Smith, who rushed for 132 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.
