Volleyball Game Preview: Hernando Tigers vs. Oxford Chargers

The Hernando Tigers will head out to take on the Oxford Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hernando is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Collierville, who was ranked 17th in their home state at the time (Hernando was ranked 22nd). The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Dragons on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost five in a row.

While Hernando was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Collierville's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-16, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Oxford came up short against DeSoto Central on Thursday and fell 3-1.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 26-28, 26-24, 25-20.

Oxford's defeat dropped their record down to 25-11. As for Hernando, their loss dropped their record down to 19-16.
