Basketball Recap: Walsh Comes Up Short

If Walsh was riding high fresh off their 41-17 takedown of Wiley back in December of 2025, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles had to suffer through a 56-19 loss at the hands of the Stanton County Trojans. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-6.

Ava Alley was Walsh's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Averi Kunselman held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Walsh dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Stanton County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walsh will challenge Manzanola at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stanton County, they will take on Sublette at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Trojans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
