Baseball Recap: ALA - West Foothills Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

ALA - West Foothills had won four straight at home, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 18-7 to make it five. They came out on top against the River Valley Dust Devils by a score of 11-7. The high-scoring effort was just what the Guardians needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Jackson Slade made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. Slade was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Brody Taylor was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Espinosa, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

As for River Valley, their record now sits at 14-6-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this matchup were averaging 4.05 runs allowed.

On River Valley's side, Wyatt Maxwell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run was Maxwell's first of the season.

As of now, neither ALA - West Foothills nor River Valley have any future games scheduled.
