Basketball Recap: Coral Gables Comes Up Short

Coral Gables was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 67-33 loss at the hands of the Killian Cougars. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Jenae McKinney was Coral Gables' leading scorer, having posted 16 points. Sophia Guim held things down on the boards with ten rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Coral Gables' loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Killian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Coral Gables and Jackson will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Killian, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hialeah at 6:00 p.m. on January 13, 2025.
