Basketball Recap: Wilkes Central Comes Up Short

Wilkes Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 58-16 loss at the hands of the North Surry Greyhounds. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Greyhounds from their previous meeting back in February.

Taylor Munsey was Wilkes Central's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Sydney Rowe held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Wilkes Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for North Surry, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Wilkes Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carver at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for North Surry, they will head out on the road to challenge Reagan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Reagan has won three straight at home, while North Surry won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
