Recap: Georgetown-Ridge Farm Buffaloes vs. La Salette Academy Lions
The Georgetown-Ridge Farm Buffaloes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They managed a 51-47 victory over La Salette Academy. The victory was just what Georgetown-Ridge Farm needed coming off of a 66-28 loss in their prior matchup.
Georgetown-Ridge Farm's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ajhon Watson, who scored 19 points. Jase Latoz was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
La Salette Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eamon Martin, who scored 21 points. The contest was Martin's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Charles Prather, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Georgetown-Ridge Farm's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for La Salette Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.
Georgetown-Ridge Farm will be home for the holidays to greet Westville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Georgetown-Ridge Farm in Illinois (Westville is ranked 289th, while Georgetown-Ridge Farm is ranked 662nd). La Salette Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Illinois Lutheran at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Illinois Lutheran has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28.
