Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Green Valley's Winning Streak

If Green Valley was feeling good fresh off their 56-36 takedown of Lee Williams on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Green Valley Gators lost to the Durango Trailblazers on the road by a 69-53 margin on Saturday. The Gators were not able to make up for their loss to the Trailblazers from their previous meeting back in December of 2015.

Despite the loss, Green Valley still got an impressive performance from Gaston Zumaya, who went 10 of 21 en route to 29 points. The matchup was Zumaya's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Santana, who posted nine points and eight boards.

Green Valley moved to 8-6 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Durango, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Green Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-51 victory against Basic on the 6th. As for Durango, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-46 loss against Arbor View on the 8th.
