Football Recap: Traverse City West Piles Up the Points Against Bay City Western + How To Watch

After only eight points in their last matchup, Traverse City West made sure to put some points up on the board against Bay City Western on Friday. The Titans blew past the Warriors, posting a 36-7 win. Considering the Titans' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Traverse City West found their leader in sophomore Dylan Dunklow, who made nine total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Traverse City West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Traverse City West didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sawyer Kirschner and Dunklow. Dunklow also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine. Traverse City West got some further help from Cam Mienk: he picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (2.5 for loss).

The victory got Traverse City West back to even at 4-4. As for Bay City Western, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Traverse City West will face off against Traverse City Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bay City Western, they will square off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Wolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.88 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
