The Quince Orchard Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Quince Orchard sitting on three straight wins and Seneca Valley on four.
Quince Orchard saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Blair by a score of 47-38. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Blazers are ranked 48th).

Quince Orchard can attribute much of their success to Ayanna Anspach, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and five boards, and Evelyn Steele, who put up eight points and six blocks. Steele is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ishani Maheshwari, who had six points.
Meanwhile, Seneca Valley hadn't done well against Sherwood recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Seneca Valley blew past Sherwood, posting a 64-31 win. The Screamin' Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 25 points or more this season.
Seneca Valley's win came from a few key players Quince Orchard will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayden Addison, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Phillips, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Seneca Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.
Quince Orchard pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Seneca Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Quince Orchard has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Seneca Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Quince Orchard was dealt a bruising 71-35 defeat at the hands of Seneca Valley when the teams last played back in February. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Quince Orchard was down 42-18.
