Fairview proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Paulding Panthers 8-6. The Apaches haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Kortney Grinnell was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Coolman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Fairview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Fairview's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Paulding, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairview will welcome Miller City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Apaches' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Paulding, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Coldwater at 5:15 p.m.
