Basketball Recap: Mercer Island Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mercer Island can now relate to. They fell 72-59 to the Bellevue Wolverines on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Islanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Wolverines are ranked 25th).

Mercer Island's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Bellevue, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Bellevue beat Mercer Island by a score of 72-59 later that day.
