Basketball Game Preview: Riddle Irish vs. Yoncalla Eagles

The Riddle Irish will square off against the Yoncalla Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Riddle and three for Yoncalla.

Last Tuesday, Riddle lost to Rogue River on the road by a 32-14 margin.

Yoncalla might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 62-23 to North Lake/Paisley, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while North Lake/Paisley are ranked 50th).

Yoncalla's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Riddle, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Riddle might still be hurting after the 42-21 loss they got from Yoncalla when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Riddle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
