Preview: United Christian Academy vs. Dayspring Academy Shires
United Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Dayspring Academy Shires at 7:00 p.m. United Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, United Christian Academy came up short against Jonathan Edwards Classical Academy and fell 47-36.
Meanwhile, Dayspring Academy pushed their score all the way to 71 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Madison Academy 75-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Tuesday (58), Dayspring Academy still had to take the loss.
John-Michael Martin put forth a good effort for the losing side as he shot 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a triple-double on 45 points, 14 rebounds, and ten steals. That was a full 63.4% of Dayspring Academy's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Jackson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
United Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Dayspring Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
United Christian Academy took a serious blow against Dayspring Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 84-48. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point United Christian Academy was down 47-27.
