Football Recap: Sumner Stingrays vs. Bartram Trail Bears
Sumner took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 27-17 win over the Bartram Trail Bears. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Stingrays' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Bears are ranked 34th).

A big part of Sumner's win came down to the chemistry between Antonio Balaguer and his top target Taesean Robinson. Balaguer threw for 205 yards and two TDs while Robinson picked up 161 receiving yards. Robinson's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 111 receiving yards dating back to last season.
Sumner didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Robert Garcia and Tyler Lynch.
Despite the loss, Bartram Trail still got an impressive performance from Arthur Lweis, who rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 40 receiving yards.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sumner is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Armwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bartram Trail, they will head out to face off against Ponte Vedra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
