Softball Recap: Chino Extends Winning Streak to Three

Chino had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Montclair Cavaliers with a sharp 15-3 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-6 on Monday.

Jianna De La Rosa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Angelina Ortiz was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. Taylor Smith was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Chino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montclair only posted a batting average of .241.

The victory got Chino back to even at 11-11. As for Montclair, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Chino will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cavaliers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
