Baseball Recap: Vista Finds Home Field Redemption Against Fallbrook

There's no place like home for Vista, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Fallbrook Warriors by a score of 8-4 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Warriors on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-0 loss.

Seth Coleman looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Giancarlo Corcuera, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Xavier LaPena was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Vista has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fallbrook, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-12 record.

Vista will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
